RecallPal Privacy Policy

RecallPal is built so that the developer cannot see your data. This policy explains what the App handles, where it lives, and the choices you have.

The short version

• Your captures (screenshots, voice notes, text, reminders, lists, projects) are processed on your device and stored on your device.
• If this copy of the App is signed for iCloud and your device is signed in, your captures and their history sync through your private iCloud database, under your Apple Account, encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple. Screenshot images and audio files are not part of that sync: they stay in the App's storage on each device. The developer has no server that receives any of it and no ability to read it. Settings > Privacy & Sync tells you which of the two states this device is in.
• All intelligence (text recognition, classification, transcription, suggestions) runs on your device using Apple frameworks. Nothing you capture is sent to the developer or to any third-party AI service.
• The App has no analytics, no advertising, no trackers, and no user accounts.

What the App processes, and where

• Captures and reminders: stored in the App's private storage on your device and in your private iCloud database when iCloud is available. Audio files for voice notes are kept alongside their transcriptions, on device.
• Photos: with your permission, the App reads your screenshots to create reminders. It never modifies or deletes your photos.
• Microphone and speech: with your permission, voice notes are recorded and transcribed on device. Transcription uses on-device speech recognition only.
• Notifications: reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. The App has no push server, sends no push tokens anywhere, and nothing about a reminder leaves your device.
• Links you save: when you capture a link, the App fetches that page directly from your device to show a title, preview image, or readable text. The request goes to the site you linked (or its standard preview endpoint), carries no cookies and no identity, and is not stored anywhere but on your device. This is the only time the App contacts any server other than Apple's, and it happens only for links you chose to save.
• Calendar, Reminders, and Contacts: only if you enable the relevant features, read on device to answer your requests and improve scheduling. Nothing leaves the device.
• Location: if you attach a reminder to a place, the App asks for location access while you are using it and hands the geofence to iOS, which fires the reminder locally. The App does not track you, does not log where you go, and nothing about your location leaves your device. If access has already been granted, a cached approximate location is also used once to compute local sunrise and sunset for the App's day and night scenery; without it the App falls back to a timezone estimate.
• Purchases: subscriptions are processed by Apple. The App receives only your entitlement status. The developer never sees your payment details.

What the developer collects

Nothing, in the ordinary course. There is no account to create, no analytics SDK, and no server holding your content. If you email support, the developer receives what you choose to send and uses it only to help you.

Apple may provide the developer with aggregate, anonymized statistics (such as download counts and crash reports you consent to share through iOS). Crash reports contain diagnostic data, not your captures.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete individual items, clear categories of data in Settings, or use Start Over to erase everything the App holds. Deleting the App from your device removes its local data; data in your private iCloud database can be removed via Start Over before deleting, or by deleting the App's iCloud data in iOS Settings.

Your rights

Because the developer holds no personal data about you, requests for access, correction, portability, or deletion under laws such as the GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act generally have nothing for the developer to act on: your data is in your own devices and iCloud, under your control. If you believe the developer does hold something about you (for example, a support email), contact the address below and it will be handled within the timelines those laws require. The developer does not sell or share personal information for advertising, and never has.

Children

RecallPal is not directed at children under 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App holds no data server-side from any user, child or adult.

Changes

Material changes to this policy will be reflected by a new effective date and, where significant, notice in the App.
